If a page inherits view restrictions from a parent page, how does this affect access to the child page?

A parent page restriction can prevent access to the child page

Access restrictions on a parent page apply to its children, so you can’t see the child unless you can view the parent. When a parent page is restricted, that restriction effectively blocks access to all of its descendants, even if the child page’s own permissions would allow broader access. In other words, you must have permission to view the parent first, and then you can view the child; if the parent is restricted, the child remains inaccessible. That’s why a parent page restriction can prevent access to the child page.
